The Balearic Islands, a most beautiful Spanish outpost in the Mediterranean, are justly famous throughout the world. Their geography- sea, scenery, and climate- are privileges, and their inhabitants are traditionally hospitable.
The Balearics seem to have been created as an ideal place to rest and relax because they offer all the best ingredients: beautiful scenery, abundant woods, fertile fields, secluded beaches with clear waters, a soothing climate, and interesting folklore.  In spite their closeness and many similarities, each island has its own distinct character. Mallorca amazes the viewer with its multitude of coves and beaches with incredibly fine sand. Menorca is serenity, Ibiza is all personality, and Formentera and Cabrera are solitude itself.
The Climate of the Balearic Islands
Their privileged location in the Mediterranean has given the islands an incomparably moderate climate. Not even in the depth of winter are its coldest temperatures uncomfortable, and the temperature is relatively uniform throughout the year. Its winters are pleasant and freezing weather is almost unheard of. The humidity is highly stable, remaining about 70% throughout the year. During the year there is an average of 300 days of sunshine, with a daily average of five hours in the winter and more than ten hours a day in summer.
